We try to finish at least 4-6 projects each semester. Students will work at their own pace but we will cover a lot of ground and have a lot of fun!

*Every child works and learns at a different pace so we can't guarantee each child will finish every planned project.

About Mrs. G.: My name is Jona Giammalva and I homeschooled my 5 kids (3 girls and 2 boys) for 18 years. I have been sewing since Jr. High (when they still had Home Ec. classes!) and have written a sewing blog for 10 years. I am a sewing pattern designer and the author of the book The Essential A-Line: Make 17 Flirty Skirts from 1 Basic Pattern published by Stash Publishing.

I opened Make Sewing Studio in the Spring of 2017 in my home studio. My goal is to teach and equip students so they have the skills to create their own projects and even sew and mend their own clothes. From there I want to help build the students’ skillset so they have the knowledge and technique for creating professional finishes (I’ve made a lot of money for my family with my sewing skills while being able to stay home with my children and I want to pass that knowledge on to my students). In my classes your student will learn a lot while having a lot of fun (I’m a task master but we still have fun together while working hard). Please feel free to ask me any questions!

You can see more of our projects and announcement on my facebook page (just search Make Sewing on facebook). Feel free to contact me at makesewing@gmail.com.
