Edith Twirl Skirt
I had the privilege of making this skirt for Heather Bailey’s feature in the April/May 2008 issue of Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion (pg. 63 if you have it!). After many requests I have finally designed a pattern for it so you can make it at home!
This pattern includes a supply list and instructions for sizes 2 through 6. There are 2 design options for this skirt. I’ve included a pattern for the embroidery design on the ruffle and instructions for making your own bias tape (a great skill to have!). There are 25 pages with 48 detailed pictures to guide you through cutting out and sewing this beautiful skirt.
Pick your favorite fabrics and start sewing! If you can sew a straight line, you can sew this skirt!
This pattern includes instructions for the “sleeve ruffles” too.
This pattern includes a supply list and instructions for sizes 2 through 6. You can make it with or without the apron and the pocket is optional as well (but fun!). There are 24 pages with 53 detailed pictures to guide you through cutting out and sewing this beautiful skirt.
The Shopgirl Apron is both pretty and practical while being fun and flattering. Wear it in the kitchen, garden or just around the house when you want to feel cute.
A versatile pattern, it has a great reversible option as well as pocket options and instructions on how to add an applique to snazz it up a bit more. Tie it in the front or back.
This pattern is designed to be beginner friendly and includes 3 sizes:
Child (3T-6), Youth (7-11), and Adult (which fits a variety of shapes).
Make one for yourself and more for gifts (if you can part with them!).
Great for boys too!
This pdf file includes a pattern, supply list, and instructions. Simply print out, tape your pattern pages together, pick your favorite fabric and you're ready to sew. If you can sew a straight line, you can sew this apron! This pattern has 12 pages with 21 detailed diagrams and includes 1 page of color pictures for inspiration.
Main apron fabric:
Adult: 7/8 yd (31.5”) for each side
Youth: 2/3 yd (24”) for each side
Child: 1 fat quarter (18”x 22”) for each side
Adult: 8”x 8” square for each pocket
Youth: 6.5”x 6.5” square for each pocket
Child: 5”x 10” rectangle for each pocket
*on the reversible Adult and Youth apron I’ve designed it so you can use the scraps (from pattern
piece B) for the pockets on the reverse sides.
Fabric for bias tape:
Adult: 18”x 30” (will make about 7 yds)
Youth and Child: 18”x 22” (1 fat quarter)(will make over 5 yards)
(18”x 44” will get you enough for two mother/daughter aprons)
This beautiful layered A-line dress pattern is extremely versatile and surprisingly quick and easy to sew! It's a pull-over so there are no zippers or buttons! It looks darling alone or over a blouse. Pick some beautiful fabrics and be sure to take your time when sewing it the first time. There are a few tricky parts but hopefully you’ll learn a couple of new things and be ready to make lots of these dresses!
You will love making the Sunny Scallop Dress! I’ve designed it so you can choose between 3 version or mix and match any of the hem variations. It’s so sweet to wear and so simple to sew. No zipper or buttons! If you are new to sewing or have years of experience this skirt will be a joy to make. You just have to be able to sew a straight line!
This pattern has instructions for these 3 views. Feel free to mix and match the different hem finishes beyond what I’ve shown here!
I’ve designed this dress so you can use an inexpensive solid fabric of your choosing for the lining (why spend money on fabric that will never be seen?). Use your favorite fabrics for the outer dress and the part of the lining that peeks out at the bottom of the dress. Be sure to pick some fabric that you love and start sewing!
This downloadable e-book is in PDF format and contains 11 clearly illustrated instruction pages plus 31 pattern pages. I've included details and illustration on assembling your pattern pieces quickly and easily. The only color page is the cover so you save on ink.
You will receive a link to download your pattern as soon as payment is made. Given the nature of this pattern there are no returns.
I’ve combined my 4 most popular patterns into one collection designed to fit any 18” doll (ie American Girl Doll) and baby dolls (ie Bitty Baby Doll) . Each garment uses less than 1/4” yard of fabric so it’s easy and affordable to match your girl’s outfit with the left-over fabric. It’s also a great way to use up your fabric scraps. Make quick and easy gifts for the little girls in your life!
This e-book includes my Edith Twirl Skirt, Evelyn Apron Skirt, Sunny Scallop Dress (2 versions), and Shopgirl Apron (reversible!).
This pdf e-book prints out to 24 pages. All pages but the cover are black and white computer generated illustrations so it downloads quickly and used very little colored ink. The pattern pieces are included and only one piece requires taping together (instructions and sample illustration included). See picture of Sample Page for an example of the illustrations.
Hook & Loop tape (aka Velcro) (for dress)
An 11 inch length of 1/4” elastic (for skirts)
Seam ripper (just in case!)
